Digga Expo 2008 – Held in Early May, The High flying event wowed the Visitors this year with working machinery displays, tours of Digga’s 12,500sqm State of the art Manufacturing facility & the awesome death defying flying antics of the “Sloth Industries” freestyle motocross team.
Over 1000 trade visitors from NSW, Interstate and Overseas viewed the 43 companies exhibiting a vast display of equipment & accessories. The bi-annual industry event run by industry professionals for industry professionals provided an affordable interactive event that allowed dealers to demonstrate equipment to their clients and for clients to test and compare brands.
2 Demonstration areas provided earthmoving, forestry & ground clearing attachment demonstrations.
The stunt riders launched themselves over the machinery in the demo arena wowing the crowds with their death defying stunts. Friday night the industry networked while the Aussie Rock Band ‘Chrome’ belted out classic rock favourites. Performing twice daily the aerial motocross stunt rider team entertained guests and closed out the event on the Saturday afternoon.
Visitors were suitably impressed with the tours of the Digga manufacturing facility, blown away by the size and complexity of the machinery that produces Digga’s truly Australian made product range. In full operation over the 2 days, the tours offered visitors an insite into the full manufacturing and assembly process through to distribution and research & development.
$1.8 million in machinery & attachment sales had been recorded within a week of the event with dealers ecstatic at the quality of the crowd that attended.
The Digga Expo was a charity event that donated all proceeds from Food, Bar & merchandising to “Make-A-Wish® Australia”.

I just wanted to thank you for all your efforts with creating a successfull Digga Expo and allowing me to be part of it.
GENIE - Brian Clifford
We received a lot of leads to follow up. We got more out of this expo than others that we have done in the last year that we have paid a lot more money for.
GTEX – Geoff Taunton
Excellent for the man with the combo in the 3-8T equipment range. Great networking event for dealers, suppliers & customers. Was an excellent opportunity for us to catch up on the latest attachments.
Hitachi – Chris Batson
Really great show with a really good turnout of high quality buyers, not the tyre kickers you would generally get. Secured some great leads and sales.
Komatsu -Bruce McNicol
The Digga Expo provided a highly economical promotion for Komatsu when compared with other industry events. We also managed to make a sale off the stand and believe other sales will flow from the leads created. A diverse crowd gave us leads in Victoria, South Australia and New Zealand. It was compact and those who attended were exposed to a great variety of suppliers and products. We will attend again! Thank you to you and your team for their efforts.

Last event summary
From the moment visitors arrived they were not disappointed. The weather was hot, machinery was hot & Aussie legend Victor Bray’s burnout was so hot, a permanent reminder was not only left in the minds of all who attended but also on the concrete carpark that fronts the new Digga Plant!
40 exhibitors and over 195 machines from mini equipment to 35 tonne excavators impressed the 2500 industry visitors over the 2 day event.
Visitors from overseas and all states had flown in especially for the event that provided for all the family. From the machinery displays, tours of Digga’s new 8000 sqm manufacturing plant, classic cars, kids entertainment, to the live bands and gourmet food outlets.
The 8 acre site provided a unique venue to showcase the machinery with working demonstrations, digging, drilling, trenching, crushing & ripping up rock, concrete & earth. Visitors revelled in the opportunity to test drive an array of machinery with exhibitor sales exceeding 2 million over the event.
The highlight of the event, Victor Bray’s awesome burnout with Digga’s Managing Director Suzie Wright on board, left the huge crowd pumped and ready for more.
And more came, with our industry legend Craig “Carso” Carson wowing the crowd with his skid steer skills and charms. Performing the skid steer challenge on 2 wheels, Carso set the bar high for the others to beat.
The winner of the event, (based on closest nominated time)Craig Eggins, bagged the first prize, PD3 with Swing Control and 12” MFT Auger valued at $3892. Rod Dart came in a close second winning a set of Pallet forks valued at $1309.

But hopefully the real winners were the kids from Variety Club, who along with their families, were treated to an afternoon of fun and interest seeing the exhibitors, a personal factory tour, mini jeep rides, face painting and of course meeting their idol Victor Bray.
The man whose heart is as large as Victor himself donated hats & personally signed posters along with his time & a huge amount of rubber.
Digga donated all the proceeds of the event and the total sales of all merchandise to the Variety Kids Charity.
All have expressed their delight that it was not just a Digga day but a day for all the industry to come together to exhibit and demonstrate their machines in whichever way they chose.
And just as the dust began to settle and the sun began to set, the exhibitors at the “sixties british rock” after party, danced on to the wee hours of the night.
But then, that’s another story…..
